Question 1
Your score so far
?
Your score appears hereYou’ll see:
  • Your daily living and mobility points, as you go
  • The rate for each part, and what it’s worth
  • The right next step for where you are
How scoring works

Apply these three rules to every activity.

They’re the same tests a DWP decision maker uses. Score yourself the way the assessor will.

Highest descriptor only

If two descriptors fit one activity, only the higher one counts. Never add both.

The reliability rule

You can only count as able to do something if you can do it safely, to an acceptable standard, repeatedly and in a reasonable time.

The 50% rule

A descriptor applies if it fits you on more than half of days. Describe how you are on most days, not your best.

PartStandard rateEnhanced rate
Daily living (activities 1 to 10)8 to 11 points: £76.70 a week12 or more: £114.60 a week
Mobility (activities 11 and 12)8 to 11 points: £30.30 a week12 or more: £80.00 a week

Daily living and mobility are scored separately. Rates from April 2026; see PIP rates on GOV.UK.

If the numbers don’t match

Two ways to challenge the DWP, £49 flat each.

PIP scoring questions answered.

It uses the official descriptors and 2026/27 rates. It’s a guide, not a guarantee: the DWP decides from your PIP2 form and assessment report. Two people with the same condition can score differently depending on how they describe it.

Yes. The descriptors are the same legal tests in force since 2013. What changed in April 2026 was the payment rates, which this calculator uses.

No. Nothing you choose leaves your browser. If you want to keep your score, take a screenshot of the results.

Standard applies with 8 to 11 points in a part, enhanced with 12 or more. Daily living pays £76.70 (standard) or £114.60 (enhanced) a week; mobility pays £30.30 or £80.00.

No. They’re scored separately. You can get one part, both or neither, depending on the points in each.

No. The 4-point rule never became law. It was removed from the Bill on 1 July 2025, so points still add up across activities.

If you scored higher here, ask for a mandatory reconsideration within one month of your decision letter. A free case review shows how we’d argue your hardest activity, within 3 hours.

Yes. ADP uses the same activities, descriptors, points and rates. The challenge process differs: 42 days for a re-determination, then 31 days to appeal.

Yes. Answer on their behalf, picking what fits them on most days. Your knowledge of their daily difficulties is exactly what an appeal needs.

This calculator gives an estimate from the descriptors you choose. It isn’t a decision or legal advice: the DWP decides your award. Descriptors in plain English from Schedule 1 to the PIP Regulations 2013; rates from April 2026.
